Keukenhof is the world’s largest flower garden! This flower garden is located in a town called Lisse in the Netherlands which is about a 30 minute commute from Amsterdam. Keukenhof is only open a few months every year from about March until May, but it is definitely worth planning a trip around because it’s stunning! I was lucky enough to see these flowers in their prime by visiting Keukenhof in mid-April. There are over 7 million blooming tulips, daffodil, and hyacinths making this event spectacular. Also, tulips are an important part of the Dutch culture which made Keukenhof feel ever more special.
When I visited Keukenhof in April of 2018, it was extremely busy (which makes sense since it is only open a few months out of the year). There was also a tulip festival event happening at the same time which could have been one of the reasons there were huge crowds and long lines. Nevertheless, it was one of the most breathtaking places I have ever seen. I have always had a love for flowers and nature which enhanced my appreciation for this flower garden. The views from the tulip fields were absolutely incredible with flowers as far as the eye can see. Keukenhof also had a few other activities including an area to pet farm animals, mazes, and a playground for children.
If you’re ever near Amsterdam during the months of March-May, I would highly recommend visiting Keukenhof (or plan a trip just for this). Keukenhof has been on my bucket list for years, so I am thankful I finally had to opportunity to see such an amazing place. This flower garden is truly unforgettable!
